The Slice tool is an industry-standard feature found in most editors, which enables you to make a cut in your video. It is one of the most commonly used tools in an editor’s toolkit and it is used to create more dynamic edits and projects.
Using the Slice tool in HitFilm is super easy!
- Select the tool from the left-hand side of the timeline. The icon is a razor blade against a vertical line.
- Click the area you want to cut, and the clip will split into two
- Hold the Alt key to make a slice in every layer on that track.
Please note that once a split has been made, it cannot be rejoined.
