London, UK (May 28 2020) – Today, FXhome released the first three tutorials in a Blender tutorial course designed to bring the complexities of 3D creation in Blender to filmmakers. This course has been requested by some of FXhome’s 5 million users, who feel restricted by current quarantine measures and would benefit from gaining a new skill during this period. Filmmakers, YouTubers and creatives will get a chance to learn Blender, the free 3D creation tool, and apply their new skills to visual effects in HitFilm. A total of five tutorials will be released covering the key stages of 3D production, including:
Introduction to Blender’s UI & Tools
An overview of all of the tools and features they’ll be using in Blender to create their first 3D model, including an introduction to the UI, Blender’s two main views (Object Mode and Edit Mode), and how to organize workspaces for the best workflow.
Shaping & Texturing a Container
Viewers will be guided through the process of creating their first ‘Mesh’ and how to assign materials and UV projection to their object to get a realistic texture.
Cutting & Applying Details
Viewers will be introduced to the endless possibilities of 3D modelling with a walkthrough of how to use ‘loop cuts’ and ‘bevel edges’ to add and subtract details, and clean up the object mesh.
Compositing & Animated Textures in HitFilm
For filmmakers, Blender can present the opportunity of breaking beyond their budget and creating something they could never have dreamed of doing practically. In the fourth installment in this Blender course, they’ll learn how to import their 3D model into VFX and video editing software HitFilm to composite it realistically into a scene.
Rigid Body Dynamics and Cloth Physics
In the last video on the course, viewers will be introduced to some of the more advanced features available in Blender, such as rigid body dynamics, cloth physics, and colliders, and encouraged to get started on their first bespoke 3D project.
All tutorials will be available to watch here or on the FXhome YouTube channel.
