Did someone say there’s a new release on the way? Yes, you heard that right! Before we get into it, we wanted to let you know that HitFilm 16 is coming in December. If you buy HitFilm Pro during our Black Friday sale (ending December 4th), you get 12 months of updates – including HitFilm 16 – for the lowest price of the year! So buckle up. It’s time to find out about the exciting new features coming in version 16.
A powerful new addition to HitFilm 16 is an update to the rendering engine which now supports physically-based rendering. Version 16 will support glTF files for 3D assets as well as 3D model animation. Pro users and Express users who own the 3D Model Render add-on will have access to high-fidelity 3D rendering, with “metallic-roughness” and “specular-glossiness” materials. Model reflections will also respond to user-defined environment maps, adding a whole new level to the 3D realism available in HitFilm.
Custom Light Flares effect
HitFilm Pro 16’s custom Light Flares effect allows you to achieve stunning cinematic looks to match any scene. Captivate the eyes of your audience with your own bespoke lens flares. Whether you want to achieve a dreamy, whimsical look or recreate the flares from your favorite SciFi movies, the possibilities are endless.
HEVC software and hardware decoding (H.265)
Whether you’re an Express or Pro user, importing videos directly from your smartphone device is easier than ever! HitFilm 16 includes HEVC software and hardware decoding so you can effortlessly import footage directly from your smartphone device into your projects without needing to convert it first.
Whether you’re a YouTuber, gamer, or content creator, the new update will not disappoint. HitFilm 16 takes the hassle out of adding a voiceover or any other audio directly onto your timeline with its new built-in voice recorder. This feature is available for both Pro and Express users.
Motion Lock effect
HitFilm Pro 16 takes the fuss out of matching the movement of effects to your footage. With the new smart Motion Lock effect, simply highlight an area of the video you want to match, move your effect to the desired location, then select ‘Apply Transform’ to instantly lock the effect to that location.
Along with all of these powerful new features, HitFilm 16 also comes with utilities to remove unused assets from your media bin or unused tracks from your timeline, new AAF import/export support (for Pro users), a number of other feature enhancements, and several stability and performance improvements too. So, what are you waiting for? Head over to the store to save up to 52% and get that download ready and waiting for you when HitFilm 16 lands in December.
