Physically-based rendering
A powerful new addition to HitFilm 16 is an update to the rendering engine which now supports physically-based rendering. Version 16 will support glTF files for 3D assets as well as 3D model animation. Pro users and Express users who own the 3D Model Render add-on will have access to high-fidelity 3D rendering, with “metallic-roughness” and “specular-glossiness” materials. Model reflections will also respond to user-defined environment maps, adding a whole new level to the 3D realism available in HitFilm.

HitFilm 16 includes HEVC software and hardware decoding so you can effortlessly import footage directly from your smartphone device into your projects without needing to convert it first.
Voice recorder
Whether you’re a YouTuber, gamer, or content creator, the new update will not disappoint. HitFilm 16 takes the hassle out of adding a voiceover or any other audio directly onto your timeline with its new built-in voice recorder. This feature is available for both Pro and Express users.
Motion Lock effect
HitFilm 16 takes the fuss out of matching the movement of effects to your footage. With the new smart Motion Lock effect, simply highlight an area of the video you want to match, move your effect to the desired location, then select ‘Apply Transform’ to instantly lock the effect to that location.
