Are you up for a challenge?
We’ve teamed up with Film Riot, ActionVFX and BorisFX to bring you our most exciting competition yet. If you get involved, expect the next few weeks to be a lot of fun, you’ll test your creativity, push your limits and you may just get your hands on over $4000 worth of filmmaking tools to help you produce your next project!
The Inside-the-Box competition has no theme, but your entry must be created solely from ‘inside the box’ (at your home/place of residence). The winning clip will be selected based on the concept, quality, creativity, and effort that went into producing the finished product. We’re sure to see some impressive entries, so make sure you bring your A-game!
Inside-the-Box competition rules
There are only 3 rules to the Inside-the-box competition (but do make sure you read the full terms and conditions before entering):
- Your project must be created entirely from inside-the-box (at your home/place of residence).
- Entries must be no longer than 60 seconds in length.
- You must send your entry to competition@fxhome.com, with the subject ‘IN THE BOX COMPETITION ENTRY‘, no later than Tuesday 19th May at 23:59 Pacific Time (PDT).
Inside-the-Box competition prizes
There will be one winner as well as two runner-up prizes, with a total of up to $6750 worth of prizes up for grabs!
The winner will be announced in June, and will receive over $4000 worth of prizes, including the full HitFilm Pro Suite (HitFilm Pro, Ignite Pro, Imerge Pro) and three of BorisFX’s flagship VFX tools (Mocha Pro, Continuum, Sapphire).
If you win, you’ll also get Film Riot’s Sci-Fi Sound Design Pack, Cinematic LUT Pack 4, and Energy VFX pack, as well as the choice of any 3 collections from ActionVFX’s massive VFX footage library*, and a $500 Amazon.com gift card to complete this huge filmmaking setup with any extra gear, tools or assets you could need!

What do the runners-up get?
As well as a winner, we’ll be announcing two runners-up to the Inside-the-Box competition. Both runners-up will each win $1332 worth of prizes including HitFilm Pro, Mocha Pro, up to $588 worth of VFX assets from Triune Digital and ActionVFX, and a $100 Amazon.com gift voucher.

We want to see some brilliant content over the course of the competition, but we also want to make sure you and everyone around you are safe. That’s why it’s vital (and a requirement of the competition), that you abide by all regulations enforced by your local authority with regards to social distancing, non-necessary travel, and self-isolation.
