HitFilm 3 Pro is no longer for sale, so unless you have already purchased a license then you will not be able to activate this software.
Step 1: Uninstall any existing copies
Firstly, uninstall any existing copies of HitFilm 3 Pro that you might already have on your computer.
Step 2: Download the installer
Click the download link below to download the installer to your computer. Make sure you select the correct version for your operating system.

Step 3: Run the installer
The installer you download will be inside a zip file. You need to extract the zip file to get two installers. On Windows you do this by right clicking on the zip file and selecting the “Extract All…” option. On Mac OSX, simply double click on the zip file icon. This will leave another folder alongside the zip. Open this to see the two installers.
One installer contains HitFilm 3 Pro and the other contains the HitFilm plugins. Please run both the HitFilm 3 Pro installer files on your computer by double clicking on their file icons (this requires administrator privileges on your computer). Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Step 4: Activate the software
- Launch the program
- Choose activate from the options when asked to activate, try or buy.
- If you already have a FXhome website account sign in with your details, otherwise choose to create an account.
- Follow the on screen instructions.
Step 5: Finished
HitFilm 3 Pro is now ready for you to use!
