Help with Transcoding

I'm new to transcoding footage  and I keep running into a problem.

Whenever I transcode my  mov. file to DNxHD all I get is a sound file. But when I play it in quicktime its fine.

Again, I'm new to this and I basically don't know what I'm doing.

Ps. I'm using MPEG Streamclip to convert the files.

  • What container (i.e. file extension) do you export your DNxHD file? I've found that the .mxf container shows some odd behaviour in HitFilm, avi and mov should be fine though. If it's one of the latter, what specific export options are you using?

  • Hi diggykong, I believe a professional video converter can handle MOV to DNxHD more beautifully, something like Pavtube video converter which I have used for almost a year.

  • I have Pavtube too and so far found it very good.
