Hi been looking around on how to flip a clip so my subject is facing the opposite direction.. I am using the 3 express program.. Can't for the life of me see where to do this.. This should be easy.. :-)
Srt layer to 3D. Rotate 180 degrees on the Y axis. That's one way.
Yep think @Triem23 has the solution. Check out the manual trasform options. I know some editors have a simple flip option but Hitfilm assumes you want more precise control so rather than flip vert / horizontal it allows much more control.
A negative scale transform setting would do it. -100 for X would flip horizontally. -100 for Y would flip vertically.
Thanks Guys much appreciated.
you can also do it with scaling but it usually stretches it in unwanted ways. The 3D layer is the best option
all I did was go to TRANSFORM under the CONTROLS tab and on the ROTATION (Z) wheel I just turned it and rotated it 180 deg so it was upside down
Here is a video showing you how to do it:
when i turn my clip into a composite shot it just turns black...
Check the layer properties for the comp and ensure it is set to ADD or SCREEN that might help.
@BoiSocial Another thing that might be coming into play is 3D settings. I have had some assets turn black if I made them 3D and added them to a comp that had a light and I didn't have them positioned correctly so the light was on them. Not sure if that will be your case or not but you might check it out.
set the scale to -100% is the pretty easiest way I think
