Rounded rectangle mask with non-stretched corners?

Hi all,

I'm attempting to make a trading card template with a rounded frame. To do this, I'm using the area mask in a 2.5"x3.5" project, setting it to 100% in either dimension from 25%. In doing this, the corners become stretched. Is there a way to retain the circular corners on a rectangle, rather than curvature making the shape elliptical? Is there another way to do this?

Thanks so much!

  • Hi @StrangeVoyager

Yes, to retain the circular corners the mask will need to be square. On a 2.5x3.5 project that means if you set the width to 100% the height will need to be 100 * 2.5 / 3.5 = 71.43%. Position this mask at the top of the canvas, and then duplicate it and move the duplicate to the bottom. They will overlap, so you'll only see the corners at the top and bottom of the canvas.

  • Awesome, thank you so much! It never even occurred to me to just layer masks.
