What movies have you watched more than five times?

edited February 2017 in Everything Else

Hello movie Lovers,

I just join this community to know something very special about movies and film from the experts.

As my "Gustavo Woltmann" said this is the right platform if i wanna know special things of movie making and direction.

So here is my first silly post for the members:

What movies have you watched over 5 times while still entertained?

Here is my list:

1. Forrest Gump
2. Sleepless in Seattle
3. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
4. Love Actually
5. Bring It O

Have a nice day :)

  • Off the top of my head, I'll go with...

    a. The Bourne Identity

    b. The Greatest Store In The World

    c. Chicken Run

    d. X-Men

    e. The Incredibles

    f. Love Actually

    g. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkeban

I'm running out of steam now so I'll stop there

  • The original, theatrical cuts of the Original Star Wars Trilogy (not Special Editions, Prequels, Spinoffs, or EpVII)

    Star Treks I-VI

Monty Python's Holy Grail and Life of Brian.

    Dr. Strangelove

    Sam Rami's Spider-Man 1 and 2.

    Airplane!

    Top Secret!

    Team America: World Police

    The Muppet Movie (1979)

    2001 and 2010

    Blade Runner.

    Alien and Aliens

    The Princess Bride

    More later.

  • 1. Lord of the Rings

    2. The Hobbit

    33. Tower Heist

    4. National Treasure

    5. Toy Story

Those are the only ones that Im 100% sure about. But yeah in my theater I add more blurays as movies are being released. Im a HUGE fan of watching movies in 3D though. Movies like San Andreas, Journey to the Mysterious island, etc, are movies that I love, but I dont recall watching them at least 5 times each.

    Great thread! =)

Way too many to list. Listing a few and skipping the franchises, and trying to list a touch uniquely.

    • Army of Darkness
    • Double Indemnity
    • El mariachi (with Desperado double feature)
    • Galaxy Quest
    • Grosse Pointe Blank
    • Payback (Gibson)
    • Ronin (DeNiro)
    • Ruthless People
    • Snatch
    • Tremors
    • Two Mules for Sister Sara (Eastwood western is a franchise but I'll still list it)

  • I think @Triem23 list pretty much covers my list also. Maybe add the Riddick.

  • 10 Commandments - Charlton Heston

  • The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension
    The African Queen
    Airplane!
    Aliens
    Die Hard
    Enter the Dragon
    Jaws
    Jurassic Park
    The Princess Bride
    The Quiet Man
    Rocky
    Rear Window
    Rio Bravo
    Star Wars (1-6)

    ...to name a few! :)

  • Not very many...

Enemy of the State - I watched this as a kid a lot, thought it was very well written and fascinating.
The Matrix - Came out when I was in high school, thought it was pretty amazing (except it had too much profanity).  The sequels were horrible, though, and the Wachowski brothers have since gone loco.
Way of the Gun - Another really good one, the characters have so much depth.  Saw this in college and loved it... you can usually pick up on something new the first few times you watch it too.  I think it's made by the same guy who made The Usual Suspects (but didn't like that one as much).

One of my favorite more recent films of the last decade has been Headhunters, but I haven't yet watched it that many times.

@NormanPCN - your movie choices are on point!  Payback and Galaxy Quest rank right up there in my favorites as well.  I saw them both several times, but I don't know about 5+ times.

  • Reading the list there are some bum films in there for sure ;) but some corkers.

Alien is ultimate but recently I watched Mr Turner a lot and still want to watch it more. And I don't like art or at least I didn't. I love JMW Turner art now for sure.

Think the title should be older than 10 years and the last 5.

You probably find not much gets watched a lot these days.

PS I did love Prometheus but only on 4 watches so far. Waiting for premium OLED screen to watch it on. New LG Wallpaper fits bill, just hoping £bill isn't to high.

Ha. It was funny to see a couple of my non-blockbuster favourites.

Galaxy Quest - If ever I'm bedridden just put it on repeat.
Army of Darkness - Slapstick at it's finest.
Die Hard 2 - The tension when the British flight gets tricked.
Bourne films - just because they are constant repeat when nothing else is on.
The Thing - original version from my youth.
Dune - floating pimply abscessed Sting's brother still scares me.
The Soldier - with Ken Wahl. Best movie I've never seen anywhere but on the VHS tape I have.

Added: The Man Who Would be King - Caine and Connery

  • Army of Darkness

    The Thing (1982)

    GHOSTBUSTERS!

    Arsenic and Old Lace

    Wizard of Oz

Toxic Avenger 1 and 4 and Troma's War! (gotta get shlock in here)

  • edited February 2017

    1. Lord of the rings trilogy

    3.  Bourne Series

    4. The Incredibles

    5. Wall E

    10. Jurassic Park

    11. Die Hard 1

Aliens reminds me of a guy I used to work with who had a shaved head and in the winter would wear a tight beany hat that was made in 6 segments, which means it had 6 seams that pushed into his head during his journey in. For about 30 minutes after he took it off his head looked like an egg from Alien.  After a few weeks of 'jokes' about it he changed his hat... He also hated Aliens and thought it ruined the franchise after Alien. Then Alien 3 came out... ruined further by Sigourney Weaver saying she wanted no guns in the movie, killing off Newt and Hicks and forcing a rewrite after all the cast had already had their heads shaved because the first script said they were supposed to be monks...

I liked Aliens. "Game Over, man! Game Over!"

  •  Terminator 1-3 and Genisys

    Star Trek(2009 ... Into Darkness ... Beyond

Star Trek 2-4 and First contact

    Predator 1 and Predators

    Total Recall (Arnie)

    Rocky

    I, Robot

And no one has mentioned Close Encounters of  the Third Kind?  Are you all zombies?

I've watched it many, many times -- it's an excellent film school if  you want to learn  how to tell a story.

  • edited March 2019

    Brains, Brains...must have brains.

Since I have over 200 items on DVD/Blu-ray I could do a heck of a list.

I'll put up and oddball/unknown one.

    Zero effect.

    I got a "Z" in the list.

  • I'm surprised noone mentioned these great movies yet:

    Saving private Ryan

    Gladiator

The Back to the future Trilogy (had to watch at least 5 times to get every detail)

    The Silence of the Lambs

    The green Mile

    Home alone

    Deadpool

    Guardians of the Galaxy

Most if my other facourites have already been covered except for:

Pick of destiny (My opinion, so shut up lol)

School of rock (its just really entertaining)

    Twins

National Lampoon's vacation & Christmas Vacation

Spaceballs (a must for every star wars fan)

These may not directly fall into the category  great movies, but they are so entertaining, i can watch them 100× without getting bored
