SectionsAnamorphic Term relating to a certain kind of widescreen filming. An anamorphic lens squeezes the image horizontally, enabling a widescreen image to be printed onto a normal film negative. A corresponding anamorphic lens on the projector can take the image and unsqueeze it, displaying it as full widescreen. Some modern video cameras can film in a digital anamorphic mode. |
