Hey guys,

I shot a scene were we are at a funeral. The tombstones do not have any names engraved on them yet, because it was kind of difficult to do so. Is there a way to add text on them. Im kinda bad at photoshop, but i can learn if there are detailed instructions on how to do so. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Or maybe I can send the short 5 second clip of it to someones email to do the fx for me. And of course I would credit you. Here is a teaser trailer i made and the tombstone is in it.

Thanks

If it were me, I'd create the text in The Gimp, key it into VLab and keyframe it for the camera shake. Probably just a couple of hours end-to-end
Reading this invokes the curse of the tiny sig! Until you break the curse you'll get random MPEG artifacting on all your shoots bwahahahahaaaaa!

You can only break the curse by giving me +1 on the next 3 of my posts that you read, then you will be free again, but beware of the power of the tiny text curse, it never fails!

I don't know if this will be helpful or not but I make styrofoam tombstones for my halloween decorations with what ever text I want on them. If you go to this site http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween/ you can find all kinds of examples, tips and tutorials on making them look realistic it might be easier than trying to keyframe a photoshop job. Especially if there are no shots of the tombstone with any of your actors which I did not see in the trailer.
Also some good tutorials on making other props like body parts zombies etc.

Judging from the title screen I'm guessing you got after effects, i would recommend tracking with rotation (camera shake) then send the tracking info to a null object then parent the text to the the null.

Your head stones are really small from what I can see... how do you expect anyone to be able to matchmove or motion track any text and then to also composit that text to that video clip much less be able to make it legible... since it is so damned small?

Not impossible mind you, but that will take some time and alot of work.

Well I'm glad you've got it covered. Was it that headstone at the beginning that looked like a cross with a circle through it? I wouldn't mind seeing the result to that.
