This was our team's entry into the New Zealand 48Hour film competiton in 2006.

The required prop was a MIRROR, the mandatory line of dialogue was "That's what I'm talking about" and the character that had to be included was Robin Slade - Optimist.

We had fun shooting this, didn't get anywhere in the competition but had a lot of drunken laughs along the way.

Funny concept, but it just got waaay too boring way too fast. It feels like the 'locked inside the car' joke from Family Guy, but extended to 7 minutes in a gross-out kinda of way. Not the hugest fan of that, I'm a big believer in the necessity of the 'hook' and the 'reel in' in these timed film contests - give me a good reason to watch in the first place, and make me feel better in the end for watching it!

I gave this a 3/5. A good attempt, but not particularly my style.

By the way, no one outside of New Zealand or Australia would get it, really. Was a piss take of a rather large story over here at the time - a couple of miners trapped (our genre was true story, prop was a mirror, line of dialogue was "That's what I'm talking about and character was Robin Slade - optimist).

I rather like this. I agree with Ben that it's too long, but it still makes me chuckle regularly.

I'm not sure how much of the humour just comes from the accents, though.

Too long? Haha, the first cut was 15 minutes! LOL I got carried away with the pen

And the accents were meant to be funny - Kiwis don't sound like that! lol. Over the top Aussie accents are always good for a laugh

Also, for what it's worth, my first 'big' film on here was called Cover's Story, was made in a 24 hour contest in 2006, and required the same line of dialogue. Funny coincidence!

Other lines I've had to use include, "you don't owe me anything", "I owe you an apology", "what's this going to cost me?", "what was I supposed to say?", and "the one on the left."

I did find the film funny, just a bit slow.

Lines I've had over the years of doing 48Hours: "Please don't do that", "Wait a minute", "It doesn't fit", "What do you call that?" and of course, "That's what I'm talking about".

Props I've had: Mirror, rock, rope, banana, paintbrush.
