Another superb mmm production! I think this is probably only the second or third film in fxhome history which has kept me captivated and entertained throughout. Really excellent.

Every single thing about this is good. For those that don't see it, i'll explain some of the particulars:

Locations - believable, plausible and actually real.
Casting - actors who fit the parts, particularly the ugly shopkeeper. Its clear you understand that even the bit-parts need to have charisma in abundance.
Actors - who can seriously act. F*ck me that is refreshing!
Script - quick-witted, flowing and appropriately crude.
Cinematography - fluid and helped the mood, scene-setting and plot.

There were a couple of places which need some tidying/fixing though. The scene where the girls is buying the guns, looked a little too relaxed - the actress didn't seem to be quite in the part. The salesman of course, was excellently sleazy, but i would have expected the contrast of character to have been used more in that scene.

The eventual gunfight was a little bit unlikely, given that everyone was standing no further than 2 metres from anyone else. The likelyhood of each character firing more than one round each, before getting shot, is very slim. The camerawork when focused on the chinese (mafia?) during the fight was also a little odd: it seemed to be wobbling around violently for no apparent reason.

All in all though, brilliant. This is going straight to my personal No.1

Il était magnifique!

Where to start? Your opening credits were so professional and well done. I was drooling with jealousy.

The film itself? It took me a while to figure out that it was a comedy (which I think you intended) and then, when I did, I found myself laughing out loud many times during the film. Your actors were all of very polished, professional talent and really carried off the scenes. Excellent writing. The film itself was cut very tightly and moved along well with no akward spots.

I really have nothing to critique as far as negative things, except possibly to mention that the English subtitles need a little bit of work to get the grammar down correctly, but nothing else comes to mind beyond that. I so rarely do this, but I give it a 5 out of 5 and put it up on my top ten list. Excellent film!

Edit for Xcession's comments...

I thought that for just a moment, but then I started laughing again. My take on that was that it was the director's intention to put some comedic highlight in the gunfight with the farsical situation of that many people standing so close together firing guns and nobody hit anything. It kind of tied in to the way that every single person got hit except the one girl who....

... ok, I won't spoil it for everyone. But that was damnd funny too.

Hi everybody,

I'm Resnyk, director of Lucky Strike and I 'd like to thank you for your so kind commentaries. It's really pleasant to see that the film is appreciated, after the work and the problems we had to face to make it, we were visibly right not to be discouraged. So thank you.

Concerning the gunfight, it is absolutly true that it's totaly unrealistic, but as the rest of the film, it is a part of the absudity that makes the film like it is. But I promise, if I make a action movie, i will take care not doing a so long gunfight with so closed characters.

Anyway, thanks again, and if you have any questions, i'll be aroud...

Merci a tous et a bientot,

R.M Resnyk

Hehe, this was technically outstanding, as mmmprods previous productions. Good camera, good editing, cood script, good acting ( I really liked davide), good locations, good everything.
You guys know your stuff, that's obvious.

Shooting on 35mm obviously makes a lot of difference too, even though some footage had quite a lot of grain on it.

A well deserved 5 star of course and yes! Whatever difficulties you had, which I'm sure weren't too few, don't stop! I'd love to see more mmmprod movies as entertaining as thing (And that comes from someone who doesn't like gangster-movies, but I thought this was pretty funny)

easily a 5/5 one of a few films that ive managed to sit threw and not even be tempted to skip the slider foward to see if there are any gd bits before i delete!

i think most the points have already been said however i disagre with Xcession about the girl scene because as we see later on shes quiet dominant and doesnt seem bothered about holding up a store looking for some gangs money & there is a slight contrast in charators as she seems more professional from her body language & how she speaks against the sleeze dealer, however i didnt like the acting in that scene from her specially when she. just my opinion

quick question how did you get your hands on a 35mm cam & where did you get the heli shots from?

You're right, 35mm is something so appreciable. Actually i'm 20 and this year is my last year in my school of cinema, where, the last year of our studies, few screenplays are selected to be shot on 35mm.

It was the case for my film, so we were offerded an unknown and strange 35mm camera, a russian one, The Kinor. It was extremly unpredictable, extremly heavy (actually it broked up during the shooting and we had to finish the film with an old Arri-BL 1972). We were also given 34 minutes of roll film, which is, trust me, not very convenient to make an whole movie, espacially when you are used to video camera, allowing you shooting scenes as many time as you fell it's necessary, 'cause price ain't a problem.

But of course, 35mm cost a lot of money, not only the camera, but the roll films price is extremly high (developing film is very expensive too), and the shooting is getting tougher, longer, because you have a lot of imperatives that you do not have vide video camera... But trust me, when you are watching the combo on the set, seeing your scene throughout the eyes of a 35mm camera, as a filmaker, it's so exciting !!!

Thanks again to all of you for your support,

Resnyk

Once again, you blow my mind. One of the best films here I must say.
The 35mm footage was deffiently a bonus, film is just so much better looking that "fake" 24p mini dv, thats for sure.

I gotta say, i really enjoyed the technical aspect. It was spot on. Everything was extremely well done, from the cinimatics to the sets, to the actors, and the writing, A point that Xcession pointed out very well in the begining.

Being a fan of dramas though, I just found it quirky for the kinda humor in it. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved it, and the 2nd watch was the best since at first I wasn't to sure if it was a comedy. It was very well done though, and the part with the larger man in the leather jacket who's partners with the female whos robbing the store is hilarious.

The "Miami Heat" kinda look, with very warm colors and a lot of yellow was great. I absolutely love very vivid and saturated colors. and again along with the 35mm film look it was just great.

An extremely well deserved 5/5 if you ask me. Keep it up guys, I truely enjoy your work.

Holy crap, a movie that can top "No!" which is already number 1 in my personal top ten.

As has been already mentioned, the cinematography and editing all worked great, as well as the script. What hasn't been mentioned that much yet, however, is the little quirks of all the characters.

I think the character that stands out the most is the clueless partner in crime. How he breaks the silence by choking on the candy bar, and stops to eat chips during the gunfight is simply hilarious.

Now I dunno if this has been mentioned, but have you seen Enemy of the State? Because your last scene is almost exactly like it!

Altogether 5/5!

Amazing, as always.

Everyone's said everything that needed to be, plus Ben and I were kinda thinking the same thing.

Obvious 5, any lower would be a dirty shame.

That was fudging funny. I loved it. I would like to know how the opening city shots were achieved. Did you find some stock footage or something. It looked like there was some CG work in there as well. I also enjoyed the cinematography. It had a good theater quality feel to it. Like other's said, it deserves a five star.

For some reason I can't get to the Lucky Strike movie page right now, but as soon as I can I'll rate it a 5!

C'etait un film fantastique... And that's about as far as my French goes!

In all seriousness though, that was brilliant mate - I loved the way it looked, and the acting was great... the humour worked really well as well. This is going straight to number 1 on my top 10!
