"The story of one man's revenge and his fishing pole."

Sortie is a tale of revenge that follows the path of one man. This man's name is Mose. He thirsts for the blood of another man. That man's name is Willian. What is Mose's motive? Willian did something to a girl that Mose knows. Just what happened however, is up to the viewer. The film is littered with "deliberate plot holes" and ambiguities meant to be decided by you.

This movie is a product of my love for extreme asian cinema (OldBoy, Ichi the Killer, Electric Dragon 80,000v) and my love of the Silent Hill video game series.

I hope you enjoy the film.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Wow! it was like watching abstract art in the form of a film! The only thing i can think of right now is that at some points in the film there were dramatic cuts in volume of the music. (athough i understand what this was for) it could have been maybe a slight long fade in the music or lower it during a sound effect. That was just so amazing and it's quite refreshing to see a well thought out film! (not that some others arent thought out ) 5/5 even with some mistakes, it was made up for in other parts of the film. GREAT WORK!

Hi, Waser,

I haven't watched the movie yet, but if you don't mind I am converting it to Quicktime for the mac-bound users.

Over all a good fun movie.

The camera angels seemed well thought out, even though I thought you used the "Dutch Tilt" a little too much.

I liked the little hints at silent hill and other games of that genre. Never seen it done well before.

I gave this a 3 because you made the number one mistake of all new filmmakers, you concentrated far to much on the images an not enough time on the sound.

The sound is 50% of your movie and if you neglect that, your film can come off very amateurish.

Concentrate on the sound a little more and you and you team could become very accomplished film makers.

Hey, good fun & unique, cool style. I thought the sound was good most of it. Liked your random theme accompanying one of the characters, though it did seem a bit poorly edited so that it seemed odd when you stopped it in places where the camera was focusing on the character but no music (in that particular sequence). Very abstract in a cool way. Loved the soundtrack, and all the characters (is that Thomas your brother? favourite character, anyway) & their mannerisms. Good stuff!

Could someone provide a screenshot of the Dutch Tilt in action in this movie? I remember people mentioning it in the thread for Sounds, I never understood what they meant though.

I can't provide a picture right now, but a Dutch Tilt is a crooked shot to be able to show a high object or something, like a tower. It was used for example when the main character, Mose, neared the guy in the corner to steal his fishing pole, and then smiled. You see his chest in the lower-left corner and his head in the upper-right corner of the screen. Hope you understand!

EDIT: Oh and BTW, this movie was really cool and artistic. I see a ggreat future of film ahead of you!

5/5!

Hmmm.... Interesting. A bit weird, but interesting. Good ol' semi-strange semi-cool semi-WTF? Waser at his best.
