Paul Deckard is a cold blooded, professional killer, working unofficially for the government. After a terrible mistake he wants to quit his job.
But the government now sees him as a threat and wants to liquidate him.
From now on, Deckard is on the run...

"Direct Cause" is a low-budget movie which will premiere early in 2010. The length will be approx. 40 minutes.

Preproduction began in June.

It was shot on the Canon XH-A1 in 10.5 days (spread over 6 weekends in August and September). One day remaining for a retake of a scene.

For the long take we had a professional steadicam operator with his real hollywood steadicam on set, that was fun!

Our Equipment includes a Kesslercrane Cameracrane, DVtec Multirig Shoulder Mount and a Lowel Super Ambi Lighting Set.

Wow! Really good work, I enjoyed this trailer. The camera work was excellent, the acting was superb, and the effects were absolutely flawless. 5 stars, it won't be too soon when he full movie comes out. Brilliant job.

Really nice man. Felt very smooth, great lighting and camera work. Steady cam shot was really good. Felt more than a low budget production. Look forward to seeing the rest of it next year!

This really shows me why I go my way with making movies no matter what...

The steadicam-operator in the long take as well as the gaffer (lighting technician) were professionals at this very scene. (As well as the stunt crew )

The Stunt Team we've got is from K-STUNTS, a really great Team.
And that they cooperated with us is just unbelievable, go to their site http://www.kstunts.com/ and look for their clients. Yes, it's a swiss company but they mostly work in hollywood.

The music (composed especially for us) is from a german composer I found via internet. I just LOVE what he produced for us!

I love the steadicam work. Incredible! I got intrigued with the trailer.

The narration though was a little much and too long for me.

Awesome steadycam work. Visually, this is really cool. A great stunt (fantastic to see something like that) and excellent lighting.

The only thing that can't keep up with the high level production values is the voiceover. The acting just doesn't really click for me. Might be the english language. And the last third of the teaser seems a bit odd too, especially compared to the rather fantastic opening.

Overally, this certainly makes one see more! I'm definately looking forward to seeing more of it all. Shame I wasn't able to make my part in it. Maybe next time.
Shall be fun to see how it all works out.

Things that don't work: The poorly written voiceover. (everyone knows what a "Freelancer" is. No need to define it.)
