The PhotoKey 3 launch is getting nearer, so we thought it was time to reveal some more new features.

This is a feature we're really excited to include with PhotoKey 3 and PhotoKey 3 Pro. The new text system enables you to add titles directly to your images without needing to use extra software.

In the screenshot below you can also see that the text interface has the new positioning tools, meaning you can adjust it directly on the canvas rather than having to fiddle with sliders.

Hot folders

PhotoKey 3 Pro has a brand new ability to use 'hot folders'. You can specify a folder on your computer and PhotoKey will keep an eye on it and automatically update the foreground list based on the folder's contents. This means you can set up your camera to transfer images to the folder as soon as they are taken and PhotoKey 3 Pro will automatically import them.

Also speeding up your workflow is the new image navigation system. You can now switch to a specific foreground image from any toolset using the listing at the bottom of the workspace - there's no longer any need to switch back to the Import toolset.

Speaking of which, we've completely redesigned the foreground and batch export listings, so you can now arrange and manage your images much more easily.

We think that PhotoKey 3 and PhotoKey 3 Pro both represent big jumps forwards for the series. You'll be able to get your hands on them very soon.

PhotoKey 3 and PhotoKey 3 Pro will go on sale next week at a special launch price. Upgrade discounts will be available for owners of PhotoKey 2 and PhotoKey 2 Pro.
