  • Hmmm.... I have the same issue as chefpat.  Sometimes when I add a 2nd control point in Puppet the image vanishes.  On other images I've been able to add many control points no problem.
  • Thank you.
  • Thanks Triem.    I just installed OSX El Capitan on an external drive so that I could run Express 8 and Pro Trial.  I haven't fired up Express 8 yet, as I'm exploring features like the puppet tool in Pro Trial.  I, um, just recently learned that the…
  • Thank you!
  • I don't see any mesh in my copy (Hitfilm Pro trial). I do have basic operations of the Puppet working now, and must say this is a great gizmo.  What I like is the marriage of simplicity and power, most excellent.  If FXhome wants to bring newbies i…
  • Aha, thanks for the clarification!
  • Thanks Jamie, I had seen that page but was having a bit of trouble sorting out what were composite features.  Thanks for your list!
  • Click try for free....   DUUUH..........!   Thank you for having patience with my dementia experience Norman.  Honestly, age 66, things start slipping away so slowly you hardly notice it, until you do something stupid in public.  Speaking of which…
  • Thanks Pixlpants, I'll try the code, appreciated. For download buttons, just launch either Firefox or Chrome and start boosting the fonts.  At some point the download button will vanish.  Probably doesn't impact most people.  I'm guessing most Hitf…
  • Well ok, add-on purchases go to the bottom of my to do list I guess.  Puppet Tool is a hot prospect though, I more or less understand that and the price is fair.
  • I was wondering if there are videos which explain the Express add-on packs in more detail than what's available on the sales page.  Thanks!
  • Thanks for confirming that, appreciated.  I think what I'll do is install El Capitan on a 2nd drive when I have the time, and install the new version there.  That way I can have new, and keep everything the way it already is too.  Looking forward to…
  • Ok, the Puppet Tool add-on appears to be $25, a reasonable price.  Next question, would I need to upgrade to the latest version of Express to use the Puppet Tool?  The reason I'm pausing here is that upgrading to the latest version of Hitfilm would …
  • It looks like the Puppet Tool is now available as an add-on for Express.  Cool!  Searching for the price now...
  • Yes, I agree that there are MANY ways in which Hitfilm development might proceed, and adding enhanced morph/warp tools is only one of them.   Although morph/warp is of interest to me, I don't really have any idea how important other users would cons…
  • Yes, Tobias does great tutorials, agreed.  However, when it comes to morphing and warping, it would be more productive to focus on learning from tools (indeed, old tools) that perform these functions far better than Hitfilm. Here's one on the Mac …
  • Great new video on the subject by Javert... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7I6msr5RZo
  • Ok, thanks guys.  @Triem23 thanks also for the template idea, I'm on it!
  • Um, next question.   Is it possible to have that option stay unchecked (until you turn it back on)?  Or is it necessary to uncheck track lines for each and every project?  It looks that way, but perhaps I'm missing something, as usual. I did see an…
  • Thank you!
  • Thanks guys, Yes, a dedicated morphing/warping app would be fine, but I can no longer find one that works with VIDEO.  I do have a good one for images (linked above). However, a work around is to warp an image, which creates a video, which can the…
  • To return to upstart challenger burping quibble mode, :-) I think I'm doing my usual thang of pushing back against nerd culture.  Please forgive me, but pushing back against anything and everything everywhere in all times and places is an incurable …
  • Good points guys, I withdraw my bizarre bloviational backward bonkers burpings (never forget the 5 B's!) on the matter.  I was reacting to two things I think... 1) My projects are likely smaller and less complicated than the esteemed artists above,…
  • @Triem23 - Your loyalty to the team is to be celebrated, but honestly I think you're just looking for some way to shift a responsibility  that should be handled by the software over to the user.   Why should something as basic and mechanical as fil…
  • Thanks for the tutorials guys, very well done.  As the imaginary official representative of the Clueless Newbie Union Local #153, I hereby bestow high marks upon your instruction.   Also, kudos to the developers for making software simple enough to …
  • It's always somewhat humorous when people accuse me of not saying enough.   After all, I'm so stingy with my words. :-)
  • Hi Palacono, If you would, please explain how your post helps expand the Hitfilm universe.  Thanks. I came back to Hitfilm from Elements probably mostly because...  1) the Elements tracker seemed to be close to entirely worthless 2) I found the …
  • The point of this thread is to explore ways to expand the Hitfilm universe by making the Hitfilm experience more inviting to inexperienced video editors.   I assume this is what Hitfilm staff mean when they repeatedly state that "newbies are worth i…
  • Well, I agree this is a small and inconclusive data sample, but look at this forum.   It seems to me that if Hitfilm had already achieved maximum effectiveness in attracting newbies then this forum would be filled with lots of grandma and her doggie…
  • @BobDiMarzio - Hi Bob, I agree, data is the decider.  I'm not sure exactly what data is needed or how to get it, but it would for instance be interesting to know how many downloads video editors aimed at the newbie market get.  Who dominates the e…
