  • Ah, thanks, I'll try that!   Thanks for letting me know.
  • Oh dear, same thing with Return and Enter key.  One time it works, next time it doesn't.   I click on the layer name, it turns blue to show it is selected, and then I hit Return or Enter.  Sometimes the layer name is then editable, sometimes nothing…
  • AHA!   Thank you much!
  • Hmm...  F2 does nothing on my machine.  A mac/pc thing? I went in to Hitfilm preferences and see there is a shortcut for rename.  I don't recognize the symbol listed for rename, which looks kind of like an X or an upside down V.  I tried to change …
  • I'll try the F2 option, thanks, didn't know about that.
  • @Thomekk - thanks for sharing your work, you've got some catchy stuff going on there. I couldn't quite tell from watching the vids, have you tried creating the head in CrazyTalk, and then attaching that head to a moving body in another clip?  You k…
  •  @GrayMotion, if you care to share perhaps sometime you could show us what you did with the 3D model you purchased?  Or not, as you prefer. As to my progress, so far I'm being dramatically successful at reaching my goal of losing all interest in 3D…

  • Please note that the complaint I belched did not blame Hitfilm, and this was stated clearly at the very start of the thread.  I do plead guilty to wrongly placing this rant thread in the Hitfilm Pro section, and am grateful the mods have repaired m…

  • Hi BobDiMarzio, It's true, I'm so incredibly intelligent that I had to look up the definition of "serpentine".  I'm happy to learn that I am a snake, because I was admittedly privately concerned that I might instead just be a member of that incredi…

  • Triem writes, "Things like web hosting and file uploads are less complex than 3D modelling." But this has not always been so.  25 years ago creating a website was a highly technical matter, which meant few could participate.  Over time that industr…

  • Hi Thomekk, I think perhaps we discussed this in another thread about Mixamo and Sketchfab?  Those two services are attempting to make a limited version of 3D point and click simple.   I did find them both to be modestly useful, and quite interestin…

  • No Graymotion, not my opinion, this thread is a revelation directly from God, who approved this message.  :-)

  • @GrayMotion, the INDUSTRY is immature.  The file you're referring to costs so much because it's ridiculously hard to make.  Example:  In 1995 people would pay me $75 just to upload a few images to a server, because it was simply too hard for them to…

  • Hi Stargazer,  Well, there is a much simpler solution.   Simply ignore 3D until the industry gets it's act together. As example... Would you create a website if it required learning Unix and half the time the Unix commands didn't work?  Do you wan…

  • Students and beginners can create image and movie files and share them widely and easily.  That's a mature industry, thus with a huge market.  3D is stuck in immaturity, and here's why.  We put up with it.

  • Yes, sorry, should be in Everything Else, my bad.  Never trust a hysterical ranter! Right, no standards.  Which means the market is a small fraction of what it could be. That's dumb. Or, at least there could be a single file format which one could…

  • In Morphage you draw a line around the area you want to be affected by your manipulations, and nothing outside of that line moves.  You can also simulate 3D.  So for example, you'd draw a line around a character's head to indicate the area you want…
  • @Pixlpants, thanks for the tip regarding removing control points. Guys, and especially FXhome staff, if you can run Mac apps why not download Morphage and use it as a model for how Puppet might work.  Why reinvent the wheel from scratch when anothe…
  • Thanks JS, yes, work in progress, Rome wasn't built in a day etc.  I'm happy it's gotten this far, and I'm sure it will get better over time.  To me, it seems it has "killer app" potential, a fun gadget that will attract people to Hitfilm, even if t…
  • Is there any way to erase a control point? Is there a way to identify a control point?   As example, say you click on Position 1 in the Control Point list area.  Shouldn't that highlight that control point in the viewer?
  • Even attempting to move the first control point also results in image vanishing.
  • Hmmm.... I have the same issue as chefpat.  Sometimes when I add a 2nd control point in Puppet the image vanishes.  On other images I've been able to add many control points no problem.
  • Thank you.
  • Thanks Triem.    I just installed OSX El Capitan on an external drive so that I could run Express 8 and Pro Trial.  I haven't fired up Express 8 yet, as I'm exploring features like the puppet tool in Pro Trial.  I, um, just recently learned that the…
  • Thank you!
  • I don't see any mesh in my copy (Hitfilm Pro trial). I do have basic operations of the Puppet working now, and must say this is a great gizmo.  What I like is the marriage of simplicity and power, most excellent.  If FXhome wants to bring newbies i…
  • Aha, thanks for the clarification!
  • Thanks Jamie, I had seen that page but was having a bit of trouble sorting out what were composite features.  Thanks for your list!
  • Click try for free....   DUUUH..........!   Thank you for having patience with my dementia experience Norman.  Honestly, age 66, things start slipping away so slowly you hardly notice it, until you do something stupid in public.  Speaking of which…
