After several weeks, this project is finally completed! I talked a bit about how HitFilm has helped me and why I have used it for over 3 years, and featured a couple of videos from fellow HitFilm users!
My channel can be found here:
Hey Aidin - thanks for sharing! You can make this into a long running thread like some of our long running users like @Triem23 and @har to keep us updated on your work. I took a look at your 'Grounded' short film which was really interesting. You've still got a ways to go with the tracking of some of your effects to help them blend into the surroundings but I love your sense of humour and there are a couple of shots that show you really have an eye for good composition (for example when he's waiting to go under the garage door as it slowly opens). The fact that you chose to stand back in that scene and not rush the moment, letting it trundle on upwards was really nice. It may be because I am a stickler for symmetry but that really appealed visually to me. Look forward to some of your next stuff!
Hey @Aidin had a look at a couple of your vids on the channel, good effort dude (is that an acceptable word still!!). Anyway your mug man video showed real promise, your camera work and shot style was great.
Keep up the passion, you never know you might be the next big thing.
A weekly release schedule is ambitious... Good luck with that!
Otherwise, I also watched "Grounded" and enjoyed the humor of the film. You have some nice shots and some solid editing going on. There were a few shots that had very minor pacing issues (a couple of awkwardly quick cuts during the "out the window" conversation. Remember, you don't always have to cut to whoever is talking. You can hold on a reaction while the other person talks... Especially for a one or two word line.),but, overall, strong work! You're already showing you have an eye for composition and timing, so, as you keep making films, you'll just get better!
Like Kristie said, keep this thread open for the whole series. New episodes can be your most current comment, and remember you can edit past comments, so you can go back and edit your FIRST comment and link your episodes there so people can akways easily find every episode at the top of the thread!
Keep it up! I will check out your other videos myself when I have a bit more time.
This week we talk about bendy tripods and why they're awesome + test shots!

One thing I like and picked up from your editing breakdown vids is your use of simple color plane clips to mark regions on the timeline.
This is a nice workaround to not having regions in the NLE.
Today I talk about the technique some of you noticed in my last video!
That's actually brilliant. The HitFilm staff should definitely use this tip in their basic editing tutorial, what a time saver!
+1 to that.
Are ideas easy?
Har very TED talk... but true enough.
Today I fly a derpy drone!
Today I decided t peruse the forum and answer some quick questions! Most of these are common problems that have given me trouble/simple tips ans techniques. Enjoy!
Today I tried making a prop I don't do this often but I think this one turned out pretty cool.
Another thumbnail speedart:
Always interesting watching your videos. You've got a great visual style.
BTW, the music link underneath in your comments points to the tripod you used.
Hey @Aidin - awesome thread! I've been watching your tutorials for a while and they're getting better and better A weekly tutorial is ambitious (we would know!) but well done on sticking to it - look forward to seeing more of them!
Just some casual announcements...
This time I actually flew the drone. Legitimately this time.
@Aidin - Nice! I anticipate some more videos using drones coming up soon then?
