Does anybody know what the purpose of z order is? Its under the position controls for the puppet tool.
@Anderson01498 I'm just guessing here (Javert's tutorial is my first real experience that got anywhere with the PT) but I am assuming it governs the pins position forward or back in 3D space, but I haven't been able to catch any results from playing with them yet.
Z position is where your object is in 3D space, which is the axis that runs from your face into the screen (and back farther still). With X and Y being Left/Right and Up/Down.
For the puppet tool you need to think of Z as more of pancake layers, one on top of the other (since it is essentially 2D). A Z layer in the front will cover up a Z layer in the back.
So if you want to have the hand of a character in front of the body, the Z layer for that has to be on top.
Thanks for the help, I know all about 3d since im currently in school studying animation.
