I am exporting my first 4k video and it is taking muuch longer than my other videos. Is this normal for 4k? By the way it is a 2 and a half minute video.
Yes, this is normal.
1080p video has a resolution of 1920x1080. This is a total of 2,073,600 pixels.
4K video has a resolution of 3860x2160. This is a total of 8,294,400 pixels.
That's four times the pixel data. Every layer composited, every effect added is four times the data of a 1080p layer or effect. If you had been previously working in 720p, then the 4K is NINE times the pixel data of your old 720 footage.
