I should probably post new tutorials on the forum as soon as they go up. For some reason I haven't done this as a regular thing. Anyway, let's correct that by posting this week's tute:
Such a good tutorial. 3 years with Hitfilm and I still haven't properly gotten into the particle simulator yet. I should really get started on that.
For your relighting with mocha--roto splines and a grade layer?
@FilmTech There's a massive amount of power in the particle sim. Seriously. There's so many parameters and combinations and ways to use that thing that every Hitfilm particle tutorial put together really only scratches the surface.
The relighting was rotoed splines of the areas I thought would be lit (the sole, some of the lines around the heel). I brought these in as a separate embedded comp and then graded it as required.
I used a similar technique here:
Whereby I mocha tracked the side of her body and her arm, perfectly tracking the movement, then relit just that area with a circular mask linked to the emitter movement.
