Action Adventure becoming just a parody

Growing up I was a huge fan of action adventure films. I would watch all the classic Harryhausen films on Saturday afternoons. Jason and the Argonauts, Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, Mysterious Island etc were how I spent my afternoons. Later I grew into films like Conan and Beast Master.
Now when I look for Action Adventure movies I see films like The Mummy series, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Journey 2 the Mysterious Island. These movies always feel less like remakes and more like parodies of the genre. If he hadn't passed away I'd half expect Leslie Nielsen to pop up. Is no one taking the genre serious anymore? I can just see them releasing a remake of Beast Master starring Will Ferrell, or Seth Rogen as Conan.
None of these films get marketed as parodies but that is how they feel. Everything is too slap stick for my taste. It feels like swords and sorcery has been replaced by cream pies and seltzer bottles.
