Super Battlesuit X-1

By Biotron of Waterbird Productions

Rating:

Dave angered the home owners association with his choice of color for his new roof. Now, he must pay the ultimate price; a battle to the death using Super Battlesuits!!!!

Set in the not too distant future, Super Battlesuit X-1 tells the story of how all conflicts, no matter how big or small, are settled by combat using a form of robotic armor called 'Super Battlesuits.' Basically, anyone can be an Ironman type of character and you don't need to be a billionaire industrialist. You just need to be able to afford a suit (which would cost about as much as a Toyota Hybrid).

I got the idea when I saw some robot toys for sale at Wal Mart. I thought they might look cool on screen, so I bought two of 'em and made this movie in about a week. The toys are called Motorized Attack Robo Squad (M.A.R.S.) and are maybe by Cybotronix (www.happykidtoy.com).

The special effect's program used for compositing was Composite Lab Pro. Muzzle flashes and such were created using Effects Lab Pro.

The explosions were created by Detonation Films (www.detonationfilms.com).

All military stock footage is from the Internet Archive (www.archive.org).

It was OK, but I didn't think there was much action. What program did you use to make this?

Hey, thanks for the positive feedback. I'll check out that Ironman tutorial. I agree that the effects could have been somewhat better. Especially on the composting side. The problem was that I filmed when it was uncommonly cold and I didn't feel like setting up my high quality green screen in the garage. So I settled for using a green trifold presentation board (like what a kid would use at the science fair) and filmed in my toasty warm basement. That actually worked out fairly well.
