Heat (in 60 Seconds)

By ben3308 of Atomic Productions

Rating:

This is our entry into Empire Magazine's 'Done in 60 Seconds 2009' contest. We remade Michael Mann's 1995 crime epic 'Heat', starring Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro.

This is definitely one of the more half-assed of our filmmaking attempts, but we still think it came out hilarious (even if only to us).

Ended up it was a UK-centric competition, so I think we breached the rules by even entering! (Considering we're from Texas and all) Though, all things considered, we made some friends in the process and are better for it. (As you've seen 'No Rest', Al Pacino in this is the narrator in that, and we don't even know him on a first-name basis, really!) I should probably also mention that the cafe is a 24hr one, and they play blues music nonstop, so even being there after 10pm is still a crapshoot!

Bummer, been there, had that problem. How'd you go in the comp? Was bloody funny!

Yeah, the sound is bad on account of my shotgun mic got stolen shortly before we filmed this. Unfortunately, while a local cafe let us shoot there late at night (the night before the entry was due) they wouldn't oblige to muting their sound system for our shooting. We got away with what we could, but the sound may suffer as a result. Still, for on-camera, I think it's pretty dece.
