EXACTLY on the money! The song is "Cohen's Masterpiece" from Bioshock, I fell in love with the track after playing the game. Oh and I have used Sigur Ros' in one of my previous reels "Hoppipola" to be exact. Recently I've found it somewhat disappointing to see the song used in so many ads and promotions now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH3G2Odpny4 Wow I loved the reel, most of the shots were incredible, and the music really was a great match. I loved the music. It sounds familiar, either the Silent Hill or BioShock sound track right? Choosing music is tough, you need to avoid lyrics, avoid pop or any song that features complex or obvious lyrics. (eg. avoid emo, rock or ballad pop) The best choices are music selections that are not distracting. Choose sons that are either subtle OR that do not attract attention to them. IF you want a reel that is cut to the music, make sure the music is chosen to compliment the images. Your reel I believe features one of the Piano tracks from a boss fight in Bioshock (Cohen?) and is a fantastic piece of chaotic music. Though I like it, others may not, as it is somewhat offbeat and throws people without our shared tastes. For example, I cut this reel together: http://www.postmodernsydney.com/home.html (click on SHOWREEL) We chose from a wide selection of World Music, and chose a track we felt complimented the music but didn’t draw the imagination away from the motion. I suggest looking into artists lie Sigar Ross, Bjork, Radiohead and such... They all have non-lyrical OR nonsense lyrics that are more about sound than words.
