While on a summer stay with his cousin and his cousin's friend, a teen begins to feel the presence of supernatural forces...

Written and filmed in about a day (except for a few pick-up shots) and edited in a couple weeks (although thereafter being stuck in post-production for a few more weeks due to audio-alignment problems), It Won't be the Last marks our first serious attempt at filmmaking since Avenged.

Yeah, I guess we do probably explain things a bit too much sometimes. We're working on not using narration anymore and telling the story through dialog, and more importantly through the visuals. Into The Woods has no narration and very little dialog, so we're making progress.

Looking forward to it.

I generally liked it, though I found the story muuuuuuuuuuuuuch too convoluted for its own good (as a rule of thumb, if you must leave a story on the lesser-explained end of things, it's better stay vague than to go complicated) and the technical polish, sadly, was not what I had anticipated after all this waiting. Even so, I enjoyed the film. Expect a longer, more in depth review later...

I see what you mean. As far as believing that his cousin has a vendetta against him, his reasoning for that was because of what he saw in his dreams, so it was supposed to be explained, but perhaps we weren't quite clear enough. And in the scene where they fight to the death, he's supposed to be starting to go a little crazy from being manipulated by these dreams and other supernatural forces so he would be more likely to take such drastic measures to defend his life, but again, I guess we weren't clear enough. Another aspect of the movie that no one's commented on that I suppose is worth mentioning is the music. This was our first real attempt at composing a score for one of our movies. Even though we don't really have any kind of musical knowledge, we decided we needed to have original music in our movies rather than using loops from Apple/FXhome, so we did a score in Garageband (but not using loops) by playing things on a midi keyboard and then using black bar type things that represent music notes to edit and write it. For not really knowing what I'm doing, I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. As for future projects, we're working on one called Into The Woods. which is an attempt at a film noir mystery/drama. We did it with about as much preparation as we did for this one. We're currently scoring it, so it shouldn't be too long before it comes out. Hopefully we'll be able to film a larger project with more planning pretty soon. By the way, Colby Hinson is the guy who plays the main character in almost all of our movies (including It Won't be the Last).
