After numerous delays in the production of American Idiots 3 (the script is complete but we've run out of time to shoot, and plan on completing it next summer), De-Evolution Studios decided that we need something to put out on FXHome before we set sail for college. So we are proud to present American Idiots 2: Special Edition.

Originally just a test of editing filters and effects, the project blossomed into much more once we took a look back at the previous internet releases of both AI1 and AI2. What I saw was absolutely disparaging. The jokes and humor were still there, but the technical ineptitude was horribly distracting.

Using the knowledge of 3 extra years of digital video production to our advantage, we set about "fixing" these films. Keep in mind nothing storywise has changed (except for a small deleted scene that has been snuck back into AI2), the changes are purely cosmetic.

The goal was to finally create high quality master prints of both films, that are of course DVD ready and will stand the test of time a lot better.

Another goal was to finally make the films available on YouTube, to broaden our audience.

Regardless of all the changes, the films remain largely the same films that many of you fell in love with (but more likely hated) all those years ago - just... better! :)

I will A LOT of before and after comparison shots and go into more detail about the Special Edition's fixes in a later post, that I will be sure to link to in the comments section!
