I haven't watched the movie, but from the poster image it looks like he used Adobe After Effects and
this tutorial by Andrew Kramer.
:EDIT: I just watched it, and overall I give it a 2.5/5. My biggest problem is that it is too long, MANY of the shots could have been cut way down, making a 4 minute movie tops. I found myself figiting. The lighting effect could have been better executed, and what I mean is this: Depending on the room and it's windows the lightning wouldn't light up the entire room. And being that lighting happens above houses it makes it a little less belivable. I would have masked out about half of the flashes.
Now on to the demon face... The first time it appears in the closet I chuckeled, which isn't a good thing. It just appears and disappears. And then it is lighter then it's surrounding making it less belivable. Next time try having it emerge from the shadows. and then retreat back in. The second time it appears it's just there for a few seconds and then it fades black. I would have had the guy open his eyes, the face is there and then it swoops down and it goes black- this would have made it much scarier.
The sound wasn't bad, I could hear the guy speaking which is good. The rain and lighting sounds weren't loud and unbelivable, but the music seemed a little to loud for my tastes... Maybe that's just me though. And as I metioned earlier the camera work was boring, it didn't add to any suspense that you were trying to capture.
Anyway, you show potential in this field- I say keep it up.
