Flying Apart

"Flying Apart" is Stuart Woodrow-Winsby's dark glimpse into the world of a depressed and introverted vivisectionist; Prof. Simon Woods (Rik Eke).

Having been targeted by an animal rights group, Woods is in the process of losing his job, family and he worries even his mind. In so doing, he has developed a certain wariness for the answering machine...

"Flying Apart" is TeamTV's 10th major fiction production to date, and to mark the occasion, we have focused extensively on high production values, as much professional cinematography as we can get, and of course the lovely cinematic finish which would be difficult without FXHome's CompositeLab Pro.

Everyone at TeamTV hopes you will enjoy this short work of the last year, an interesting part of which is the way in which the narrative unfolds. Prof. Woods himself never speaks, and the story develops through answering machine messages left for him.

You have...one...new message...

Wow, I thought that was great. I noticed two things however. In the beginning when he is cleaning up around his house, it drags on for a while, and frankly doesn't seem too important to the story. And when your movie is only minutes long, it hurts to put in scenes that don't move the story around much. My other point if when he's in his office and listening to messages. It seems like it goes on for a long time, and I don't know if I understand the story completly, so perhaps they were neccesary. But I agree with Sollthar, unless you read the introduction that you wrote, it's hard to tell Exactly what's going on. Oh yeah, and he killed 3,400 animals?! That seems a little extreme. But overall I really liked it, awesome, 4/5!

This is the second review I have read where you gave the film a lower rating due to the high rating of the filmmaker.
There's more then two where I said that actually. And you're right, about 3 or 4 years back, I did vote on some of my own movies a 3, 4 and 5 because we had large vote rigging problem back then (good old different times ) and obviously those votes have never been deleted. Which they should. *slight hint to fxhome webgurus should they read this thread* I don't think one should give his own movie a 5 as a first vote. It'll raise high expectations and looks somewhat pretentious. At least to me. Obviously it looks different to you, which is fine. Though don't forget, I don't have to vote according to what YOU think, I have to vote according to what I think. And I do so and write my reasons in the thread so the filmmaker knows what motivated my vote, regardless of the fact if he understand it or not - but I try to always make my thoughts transparent. If that affects your respect for whatever I have created, then so be it. YOU do what YOU think is right, that's fine for me. This would have been a solid 4 from me, because the filmmaking in it was, as I said, impressive and quality, but was reduced to a 3 (Which, mathematically ends up being a 4 anyways combined with the 5 star vote). On a sidenote, I'm a bit disappointed this has gotten so little attention and feeback. So I hope the thread-bump will ultimately lead to some more reviews for Larik instead of just voiceless votes.

Hiya, sorry about the broken link - running out of bandwidth on one server! At lease this means people are watching hehe. This will be rectified asap. Thanks for the feedback and votes so far - on the voting 5 issue, I understand why it could be presumptuous to label your own movie a five, and why it might not endear eveyone - on which point I apologise, but i suppose everyone wants their work to do well so more people see it initially. (I don't think it's THAT great ) anyhoo, no worries and if anyone else has feedback for the team, please leave it for us to review! Thanks again to everyone who has taken the time to watch and comment.
