jmax- That is a nice! Thank you for posting the links for me to learn from!! Elderban- Thank you! Your right about the grain, i was thinking i should obtain some more reference footage then build the grain structure to match historic sources. I don't know if you guys have seen this site http://www.archive.org/details/movies but as far as i know almost everything on there is free domain. And there is a ton of WWII films and all sorts of odd clips. On a side note: I just got some real good news for my film; Engler Custom Paintball Guns is making me a MG42 (not operational but using real parts!). Currently i have a rubber one that loots good from far away but lacks detail for close shots. Eric is one heck of a guy, check out his site! http://englerpaintballguns.com/menu.htm

Check out Jazz's post on this page, it makes a decent loooking fisheye right in fxhome products. It should probably render pretty quick too. I will admit you could probably get better results using the 3D functions in most NLE's, but this is more convinient in-program. Also, I guess you could actually use a practical lense effect. I don't pretend to know a lot about lense converters or their cost, but this post might help ya.
