Have you ever wondered what pirates, true love, and full moons have in common?

WARNING!
This is quite possibly the campiest film ever released by Reels About Nothing

Story behind the story:
A few weeks back was an event that I had looked forward to for some time, the Brickfilms 24 hour animation contest. When the day arrived my friend Brian got all his LEGOs and look them over to my place, we then wrote a script, acted out the dialog and got to work on the animation. We decided that we could not get the picture quality we needed for the film on a webcam (which is what we originally planned to shoot on) so we went the more time consuming route of using my digital still camera (the movie was shot at 1360x1024 and downsized to 640x480). As the deadline neared it became more apparent that our whole script was not going to be finished on time. At the beginning we had shot the climax first so that that piece of animation would not feel rushed, but doing it that way more or less made us cut out most of the story. Needless to say the cut we released that day confused almost ever one who watched it. The pacing was way to fast and the story was rather unclear. Brian and I decided to take the material we shot, keep what was good and re-animate a few of the worst shots and shoot the rest of the script. We thought this would only take another day or so however it turned out to be a bit longer then we expected, so I was like, “what the hell, may as well spend the extra time on solid visual effects too.” This is the first project I’ve used my new audio equipment (Shure SM57 and a compact flash recorder), so tell me what you think of the sound quality and sound effects, I made many of the effects myself which is a first for me. What started as a one day quickie turned into a three week project. I hope you enjoy this camp fest as much as Brian and I enjoyed creating it!

I glad you enjoyed the movie and I'm sorry that some parts were to loud (I did lower the volume in the crash quite a bit, but not enough I guess) If you want to watch other high quality LEGO films check these out, I did NOT make them but I highly recomend them. The Magic Portal (this film is a must see!) Robota The Gauntlet Star Wars Episode III: Rise of the Empire (Trailer) ONE: A Space Odyssey Frankenstein Special Deliverance Cognizance

What did you not like about the editing? I love criticism and am always looking to improve and often times people don’t think they need to criticize the editing or cinematograph or grading of animated films for some reason so any advice on weak elements is hugely appreciated. Feel free to go down into the nitty gritty of it and get nasty, whatever I upload next will be the better for it. And LEGO animations easer for me then proper spelling, if you think something is iffy, you can point it out, I don’t care.
