'Revenge: Haunted by the past, troubled by the future'

Synopsis:

"A man is haunted by his past, 3 years ago his father was taken away from him, in an unprovoked attack. His future is troubled with the memories of his father and his father's cold blooded murderer. Untill he recieves a ransom message from the murderer suggesting he will do the same to each member of his family, until he is paid. But, the son sees his chance for revenge."

This is the first real short film that I have submitted to FXhome. The aprouch for this film very much incorporated familiar sounds and camera shots used by 'Kill Bill', 'CSI' and someone mentioned '24'.

It was filmed on a really basic canon MV700 so ther picture quality isnt great, but the grading brings out the colours a little more.

I hope you enjoy,

Kind regards,
SMB

Sorry for late reply, Thanks alot for all the comments. The video does look overgraded slightly, but the quality of the footage was soo awfull, (i mean terrible, practically grey footage) that i had to really push the grading and tinting, to bring out the colours. Thanks for every comment and tip, they'll hape me improve my next prject, and well done for noticing the ticking clock regards, SMB

i agree with the over grading, but i'm not a big fan of extreme grading in the first place... As for the actual film, i liked it well enough. I only watched the re-edit, but i still think it starts off a bit slow. I think it would have worked better with the "artsy" shots if i had something more interesting to look at than the inside of a normal house... I think it would have worked better if the movie was longer, and there was more of a story. Also that jumpcut thing of the bad guy crossing the road to collect his money felt a bit un-natural...maybe you should have done 3 jumpcut fade things, or somthing, it just felt un-natural... Your effects were pretty good though...and i liked the ticking clock at the begining... Clinto

I can't add much to what every one has said, but while the visuals are above average for low to no budget internet shorts it really looks over graded. It's just layed on a bit to thick for me, I would say on your next film tone it down a notch or two.
