Three US astronauts prepare for a trip no man has ever taken before, to the Moon. HJ Productions invites you to join Neil Armstrong (Jason Piszczor), Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin (Mike Prokopovich), and Michael Collins (Dan Tarnowski) as they journey from Earth to our nearest natural satellite. Experience the perils of takeoff to landing. Also starring Tony Mancuso as Ground Control, and Chris Radey as John F. Kennedy, this film is sure to remind you of the historical flight. So sit back and enjoy the ride.

This film short was made as a final quarter Freshman History project. It was filmed over a course of three afternoons. All greenscreen/compositing work was done with chromonator and all 3d work was done in 3ds Max. Special thanks to NASA for providing photo backdrops of the moon.

I love the music in the end. Really got me pumped up for America being the 1st ONES!!!! Dialogue was a little weak and not the best acting, but other then that, I'd say awesome. Great how you used the car and trampoline. Keep it up and hope to see more from you in the future!

Good job! That was kinda fun. I thought the opening credits were stretched out a little bit too long and I became a little impatient. Overall it was a pretty good project. I mean, it lacks a lot of sheen, but it had some advanced notions. I thought the 3D and green screening, especially the space walking part using the trampleline was the best part (would have liked to see more of the bouncing on the moon.) I chuckled during a section or two, and you had some interesting ideas, using the tin foil all over the car and stuff. The dialog, was sorta slow and not overly exciting, but it was okay, considering it was a re-enactment If you stick with it, you're bound to get better and maybe make something really amazing one day.
Thanks man. I agree with you that it lacked in areas of dialogue and so forth. Problem was we were busy right up until the deadline for the project, so we ended up filming last minute. Dialogue was hard to come up with considering it was hard to find actual quotes that they would've said while in space. We sorta just based it on the mission outline of what happened and when. Fortunately I was able to find some of the old tv broadcast videos of when they landed and we tried to follow the dialogue of that as closely as we could in the 'descent to the moon' scene. I also would have liked to include more moon walking shots, because we had plenty more footage. And made that part longer and more meaningful however I was up till 5 in the morning editing. I got to that point where enough is enough, I need sleep . The other problem I faced was the steep rendering times due to the exhaust I added coming out of the rocket. I'm glad you liked the trampoline idea, it took us a while to figure out how we were going to set up the greenscreen behind it, as we had to drag it over the shed and find bricks to hold it down from blowing in the wind. Ooo and the car, thats a funny story. My neighbor almost called the cops on us until she realized it was me again with my crazy filming ideas. All she saw was a car with its windows completely covered and a tarp overtop of it shaking back and forth. Go figure . Either way it was a lot of fun to make and I got an A .
