A test film with a plot. 1st time I used the Alam DV softwear. It may become the 1st in a series of 2 minute installments. I don't want to reveal too much of anything. Just remember it's a Role-player's World. =^.^=

Well the intire thing was conceived, costumed and shot in an hour (between classes at my college. Luckilly I'm in the Foundations Of Performing Arts so I have free acess to the costume room). We did take multiple takes but our camera head was dirty which caused some takes not to record anything. This caused us to lose roughly 10 min. of footage (taught me a leson, ALWAYS clean the head before shooting). This movie is not really meant to be taken seriously, the camera work was all improvised. As for the music, I work within the public domain. It was recorded via wax spindles in the between 1890 and the early 1910. I don't use copywrited music, because I don't want to be sued in case I come up with somthing marketable (not that this was suppose to be). Music copywrite is a pain and generally costs more than it's worth (the movie Bubu-hotep is a movie about Elvis without a single Elvis song. This is because the royalty for ONE song in ONE movie costs between $20,000-$80,000 (which would have taken up the majority of their buget). Or like in Chaseing Amy where the guy qoutes the song "It's your birthday" for like 5 seconds (which you think it would be legally concidered a "sample" it ended up costing the movie company $10,000 for the rights after the fact.) This is why I stear clear from popular music and use the old stuff, that and I'm a freak and like the sound of it Don't worry when I make somthing that's purpose is publication I will be probably buying music from MusicBakery or Sounddogs (excelent sites for LOW cost music recording rights. Although don't expect to recognise any of the names Sounddogs mainly tries to sound "simalar" to the actual pros.). But in anycase, thank you for the creative critism. I appreciate it (not being sarcastic). This was just an excersise for me to get use to the softwear's interface. After a few more tests, I'm going to shoot several fairly long scripts under college contract (they have a bit more thought into them, started QFGR back in Jan. 2003). 1st - Fairy Tales (a twenty min. short) - A movie containing 4 modernised fairy tales taking place simotainiously in a Cafe. 2nd - The Quest For the Golden Rod (Hour and a half feature) - A general Fantasy spoof hitting every major fantasy film from The Magic Sword to LOTR (Don't worry Willow, Legend and Harry Potter are there too). Working with Alam has been a blast, I can't wait to practice a few more effects. Your guys rule and keep the feedback coming! PS - I rarely act in my own movies. Those were my friends Gwynn, Noah and Paul acting

Decent idea, but for some reason it lacks something. Disliked the music, the idea was good though. The scifi comment made it bearable.

Nice job. The part where he said "Engage reflector shields!" seemed humorously out of place.
