Full on Quantum Leap. Watch as I blast myself right into next week.
Done with ALAM lightning, the lightsources from version 1 (I believe those are brighter than the later versions), and a few other blue effects here and there.
Now the leap matrix was taken from an episode of the show where Sam Beckett does not leap into a person place or thing, but just into blank empty space (the last ep for the leap-philes among you). Since the matrix was against a perfect black background, it was easy to do a chromo replacing composite with Premiere, and plant the effect right on top of an image of me. Ideally I would love to take that leap frame by frame and just make the black transparent so compositing is not needed, but I dont have the best photo editing software that I would like.
This is the same leap effect that I promised to make into a plug in months ago, but I got busy (finishing up WELCOME TO YOUR BRAIN among other things. Final version is 45 minutes long. Sorry. I also have to change all 68 frames of a leap from TIFF to JPG one at a time before I can make it into a plug in. I will get to it but it is a real pain).
Any questions or suggestions on how to make the leap plug-in quicker, feel free to drop me a line. Otherwise hope you enjoy.
Try to identify all the knick knacks on my computer desk while you're at it (The Ringwraith action figure last seen in WAR OF THE SPELLMASTERS makes an appearance, among other things).

It was ok, but I don't rate test movies high because they shouldn't be high in the ranks of movies that people put a lot of effort into. Nice effect though. ![]()

The effect was okay. I think it would've been better if you had just walked into frame, without looking at the camera or doing the "thumbs up" thing, then did the leaping effect. That's just me, though.

I think that it was very well done. It was good that you covered the whole screenbefore the change. I have seen people that havent and it looks terrible. I think that that was a great "quantum leap" thing that you had going on.
