Chat Transcript

schwar: its 8pm
Tarn: Hello everyone, welcome to the third FXhome.com webchat. This is THE BIG ONE.
Cogz: hi guys
Tarn: Only the FXhome team can talk in #fx-event for the duration of the webchat. But you can all talk and discuss things in #fxhome. If you're using the webchat system, you can flick between the channels using the tabs.
Also, some of you might have disconnect problems following web links we put up. No need to panic, just rejoin and we'll be making all the links available at the end for anybody that misses anything.
We're going to start off by taking questions about EffectsLab DV, then at about 8.20 we'll move on to CompositeLab DV questions.
First, however, we'd like to introduce the newest member of the FXhome team - Jack Everitt, known around here as 'JackPot'.
JackPot: Hello everyone!
its great to meet a large portion of the community in one go!
Tarn: Jack's already done some great work on the rendering systems in the new programs, and you'll be seeing more of his work in the future.
schwar: much more ;)
hehe
JackPot: hehe
Tarn: Before we go any further, we should mention that there will be some exciting news coming up later in this webchat...so stick around!
Cogz: yeah, he's been working with me optimising lots of stuff to make it uber quick
Tarn: Right, on with the show.
As most of you will know, our visual effects app EffectsLab DV is now complete and will be released in December, offering loads of enhancements over the preview version.
Time for our first EffectsLab DV question...
schwar: can't wait
any min now...
[20:04]Obi Wan Kenobi asks: Does the December-update of EffectsLab include the presets? Or more?
schwar: Yep, its got preset, its got a whole preset engine
its great, and simple to use
and no other program has anything like it
Tarn: We're intending to have loads of great presets in the program for the launch
so you will at last be able to add effects with just a couple of clicks
Cogz: once you create your preset, you can also share it with other users
schwar: can make grading presets, effects presets, or mix them both together
we then have a really cool in program search engine
like itunes
so you can have hundreds or thousands installed
and find them easily
we'll show you some screener later
Tarn: some of you might like to take a little look at this: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/elab-dv-box.jpg
schwar: heh, or maybe screen shots now?
* schwar looks to tarn
Tarn: coming up....
schwar: there are 2 areas where the presets like
1 in the effects browser, simply click on an effect
and below the presets of that effect appear
i.e. click on muzzle flash
Tarn: here's a glimpse at the preset system in action: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Presets1.jpg
schwar: and below you could get tons of guns appearing
you can click on these to see a preview
then just drag them on to the timeline
the screen shot here shows the "create preset" widget
Cogz: you can see by that screenshot, you can add lots of information into it, and also put your name as the creator
Tarn: all very simple to use
schwar: here you can add a name, a creator (you guys love that)
and then an overview and description
add in your keywords to make searching easier
the preview image is automatically made
Cogz: the little preview image shows what the preset does
schwar: you can edit this inside the program whenever you want
Tarn: the export button enables you to export a little package which you can upload to share with other filmmakers
schwar: these presets are tiny
not like alamdv2 plugins
you can easily make a great particle effect preset which is no more than 100KB
Tarn: here is an example of the effects preset selection system: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Presets2.jpg
now when you click on an effects engine, you also get a selection of presets
schwar: and can then refine that with a search
the grading presets have another widget
this allows you to see the preset applied to your footage
before you apply it
:)
Tarn: if some of you are having disconnect problems when clicking on links, don't worry, we'll be posting all the screenshots up at the end for you to look at
one more preset screenshot... http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Presets3.jpg
this one shows the filter preset system
schwar: yeah, this is the "apply preset" widget i was talking about
Tarn: same concept as the effects presets, but designed for all the various filters
schwar: you can search, select and preview the preset applied to your footage
Tarn: one nifty part is that you can turn different parts of the preset on and off using the green toggle switches, and the preview automatically updates
right, next question
[20:14]TimmyD asks: Will hundreds of thousands of pre-sets weigh down EL, making it slower, like Alam DV with lots of plugins?
schwar: nope, presets are not the same as the old plugins
you can install 20 in a few seconds
if not less
they also don't change the ram requirements of the program
i.e. 10000 presets won't mean it takes 100MB more ram or anything
in fact elab should now take less ram than the preview
[20:16]Obi Wan Kenobi asks: Will EffectsLab be speedier than it is now?
schwar: yeah, it is faster
Cogz: we're been busy optimising most of the code for you all
schwar: Cogz and JackPot have made some great progress making the program faster and reducing ram requirements
the interface has also been optimised to be faster
we are looking in to other methods of increase speed in the near future
we always will be
[20:18]JediMaster33 asks: Will Effects Lab have a lightning effect generator built into the program and will it have a point randomizer?
schwar: Nope, not at the moment
we are going to look in to it
but we have added the Optics engine
Tarn: especially if there's big demand
Cogz: yeah, its on my "to-do" list at the moment
Tarn: there are new things in eLab
including a totally new effects engine
schwar: tarn, wanna talk about the optics engine?
Tarn: sure
as you know, AlamDV2 had a simple 'lens flare' system
we've taken that basic concept and run with it...a long way
schwar: a very long way
Tarn: and we now have one of the most flexible light/lens flare systems ever conceived
here's a nice example of it in action: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Optics2.jpg
schwar: its more than a lens flare, its a whole light effect engine
you can make your clashes with this system, match real lens flares
photons
Tarn: and another here: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Optics3.jpg
and one more: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Optics1.jpg
as you can see, it's extremely versatile
you have total control over every single lens element, as well as its animation
schwar: again, make what you want and save it as a preset to use again and again
Tarn: and like with everything else, there will be a bunch of presets to make it easy to use
schwar: we've also updated the current effects engines
we've got additional properties in all the preview engines
the particle engine is vastly better
allowing for far better animation
i think we have to move on...
Tarn: Time to move on to the CompositeLab DV questions. If you have more eLab questions, don't worry, we can go back to them later.
We've got the first of our exciting announcements coming after these questions, so stay tuned...
schwar: yes indeed
Tarn: CompositeLab DV is the replacement for Chromanator and provides powerful compositing and greenscreen tools, optimised for DV users.
First question coming up.....
[20:25]Redhawksrymmer asks: How is the keying engine improved from Chromanator in CompositeLab? Also, what new functions will there be?
schwar: well, the new program is based on our charger engine
Tarn: CHARGER
schwar: this has been significantly upgraded since the elab preview
it now supports various methods of realtime playback
and quicker rendering
this means that everthing you do is quicker
keying has been enhanced with updated filtering
meaning you can get much better keys
the interface also allows you to see what you are doing far more easily
by dynamically showing you what you need to get the best key
Tarn: no more awkward switching between Project and Object mode
schwar: yeah, 1 mode
no waiting for rendering
Tarn: you can access all your project info at any time
schwar: more filters for moving and adjusting your key
and generally higher-quality rendering
its a totally differnet world
remember when alamdv2 moved to effectlab preview
its that kinda jump from chromy to compositelab dv
we've added a bunch of new grading filters
and pre key filters as well
just to make your compositing even better
next question i think?
[20:30]steeb69 asks: What are the main technical and cosmetic reasons to upgrade from Chromy to CompositeLab?
Tarn: Too many to list :)
schwar: heh, yeah, its a different world
Tarn: the interface in general makes everything so much more pleasant to use
schwar: its so much quicker to work with
Tarn: The welcome screen: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/cLabwelcome.jpg
schwar: and much nicer to look at in general
Tarn: sharing similar interface concepts makes it very easy to jump between different FXhome products, too
if you are an EffectsLab DV expert already, CompositeLab will be easy to pick up
schwar: yeah, very easy to pick up
Tarn: once you've tried CompositeLab, Chromanator feels very awkward to use
schwar: and chromy users will find themselves asking why chromy wasn't like this from the start
:)
Tarn: in cLab, everything is more stable, faster and more responsive
schwar: as you can see on this intro screen
Tarn: which makes it easier to be creative
schwar: the program links to fxhome.com (if you're online) and downloads the latest news for you
just to keep you up to date
:)
Tarn: here's the EffectsLab intro screen: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/eLabwelcome.jpg
you can start projects, check the latest FXhome news, open old projects and access the documentation all from the welcome screen
schwar: different news types have different icons
and there is even an easter egg in there
;)
ooo, what could we talk about now...
something amazing i think
back to tarn
Tarn: We're going to move on to the first of our surprise announcements now.
We are also releasing two other new products - CompositeLab Pro and EffectsLab Pro.
The Pro versions are designed for High Definition footage and include a selection of expert features, such as alpha channel rendering, more grading filters and special composite tools.
schwar: HD is only the start, the pro versions move everything on
we've got more grading filters, and the amazing composite filters
we'll talk about those soon
Tarn: We'll have another announcement in about half an hour. Right now, though, back to the questions. Feel free to ask anything about the DV or Pro versions.
schwar: and we've got alpha export
so you can output you keying or effects in to your NLE
Tarn: or between cLab and eLab easily
schwar: this is still a consumer application
so we're not going to ask you £199 for it
simply, EffectLab DV is £64.99
EffectLab Pro is £89.99
thats it
[20:39]Deepcoiler asks: What's happening with the gleam effect featured in previous spotlights?
schwar: gleam (and another effect called glow) feature in both elab and clab Pro
Tarn: you mean......this? http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Gleam1.jpg
schwar: these are plugins which cost serious money in AfterEffects
but they are just part of the Pro application
Cogz: there are lots of attributes you can change in the gleam filter
schwar: we also include displacement in both apps, you can use effect to displace in elab pro
and keyed footage in clab pro
Tarn: I have an example of displacement lying around here somewhere....
schwar: allowing for predator effects :D
also means, in elab pro, you can do heat haze coming off your rockets
or gun tips
Tarn: ok, here is a basic normal shot: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Displacement1.jpg
here is a pretty little particle effect: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Displacement2.jpg
now, if we use the particle effect as a displacement map...
schwar: pretty ugly ;)
Tarn: you end up with this kind of distortion.... http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/Displacement3.jpg
Cogz: now you have to imagine that in motion :)
Tarn: good for heat haze, camo/predator stuff, or even like the 'when you're wearing the Ring' effect from Lord of the Rings
schwar: clab pro also adds light spill
and chroma key
Tarn: oh yes, and bullet trails :)
schwar: rather than colour difference key
light spill as used lots in Star Wars ep3
on the planet made of lava
so the red/orange light spills around the actors
making them look like they are really there
tarn is trying to find a pic, but it looks like he forgot ;)
:D
as i said, there is also great chroma key in clab pro
allowing you to key any colour or tone
and enhance your keys even more
we'll stick up some pics of lightspill and glow tomorrow
when tarn pulls his finger out ;D
http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/lightspill.jpg
Tarn: this is a rather poor example
schwar: thats a very basic image of it
Cogz: he found one :)
schwar: left has no light spill
Tarn: on the left half it's a normal composite
schwar: right has it
Tarn: the right has the brightness spilling around
the appearance of the backdrop also shows the Glow filter in action
schwar: guess you guys who have elab want to know how much elab pro is?
Cogz: the light spill comes from the colours in the background, so if it were say footage of red Mars, the glow would be red
schwar: and those with chromy would like to know as well i bet
Tarn: I've experimented with the Mustafar footage that was online a few weeks back, and light spill looks incredible on that
but I don't think we're allowed to use Star Wars images for publicity :)
schwar: Chromanator to CompositeLab DV = £34.99
Chromanator to CompositeLab Pro = £59.99
BUT!!!
until new year we are gonna offer you a special deal
we make less money, but you guys have always supported us
Chromanator to CompositeLab DV = £24.99
Chromanator to CompositeLab Pro = £49.99
after the new year the prices will go up to the first ones i stated
but this also means that CompositeLab Pro will be released the same day as CompositeLab DV
:)
thats well before Christmas
as for EffectsLab DV and Pro
EffectsLab preview users get EffectsLab DV for free
its the finished version of the same program
EffectsLab DV > EffectsLab Pro will be £34.99
BUT!
up until the new year
EffectsLab DV > EffectsLab Pro = £24.99
and EffectsLab DV and Pro come out the same day
the same day as CompositeLab DV and Pro as well :D
Cogz: :)
schwar: if there are any alamdv2 users looking to upgrade its a bit more money
and it'll be listed on the site..
more questions i think
:D
Tarn: Right, don't forget folks that we've got another surprise coming in just over 5 minutes
but first, another question from the floor.....
[20:54]sfbmovieco asks: How often can we expect to see updates for these products...Meaning how often will we need to pay for upgrades, just so we know whats a good investment to make?
Tarn: well...
as you know, we've always tried to be as fair as possible
schwar: we think the life of the applications will be 2 years
with updates inbetween
but those will be point releases (i.e. 1.5)
Tarn: incremental updates are free, as usual
schwar: not version 2
that will be about 2 years
Tarn: they might be fixes, interface tweaks, new bits and pieces
schwar: as tarn said, 1.1-1.9 would be free updates
Cogz: yeah, new features might pop up :)
schwar: and, when the next version does appear, you'll get a great upgrade deal as always
[20:58]Erfa asks: Would it be any idea to get CLab Pro or ELab Pro if you don't plan to work with HD?
Tarn: yes :)
Cogz: the Pro versions support HD, but you can use DV in them
Tarn: the Pro versions offer lots more than just HD compatibility
yeah, the Pro versions are completely backwards compatible with older formats like DV
but they also come with extra features
Cogz: and also extend features which aren't in the DV versions
Tarn: such as the composite filters, like Gleam
schwar: for people getting in to effects being able to alpha render is a must i think
so you can work with your other programs
and the added grading and filters just make it worth it
basically in elab pro or clab pro i think you have like $800-2000 of After Effects plugins
in DV you have maybe half that
its worth the extra money in my eyes
Tarn: and my eyes
schwar: and is crazy good value
but thats what we do
Tarn: Thanks for all those questions, keep 'em coming!
Now for the really big news.
Cogz: here we go
malone: this is what you've been waiting for
Tarn: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/vLabWelcome.jpg
schwar: heh
Tarn: It's time to unveil our flagship application: VisionLab HD.
malone: you have no idea how hard its been to keep this a secret
Tarn: Combining the features of the Pro range into a single, all-in-one, super-powered post-production toolkit, VisionLab HD is the pinnacle of all our work over the last few years.
Hugely flexible compositing capabilities. Powerful CG effects engines. A massive selection of image grading filters. High Definition support. A full commercial licence. It's all here.
schwar: this is everything we've done
and everything we're doing
Cogz: all the filters all the effects in one program
Tarn: Designed for filmmakers making the step to the semi-pro market, VisionLab HD provides a smorgasbord of creative tools that will enhance any production.
We think you're gonna like it.
Any questions?
schwar: all the filters, all the functions
this will get all the new filters we are working on first
we will also be making specific filters for professional users
and dedicated support and a commercial licence
this is out move to professional software
so we can continue to feed our consumer range
out = our
:D
Tarn: hehe
schwar: the consumer applications retain our "Credit FXhome.com" licence
this helps us keep the prices really cheap
Tarn: so with every production, you guys drop a nod to us
schwar: as its word-of-mouth advertising
Tarn: so that anybody watching your movies thinks "ooh, cool effects"
schwar: VisionLab HD doesn't have this, its a commercial application and the price reflects this
[21:05]Redhawksrymmer asks: How much is VisionLab gonna cost?
schwar: £299.99
but with upgrade options coming for dv/pro users who want the software
this is the flagship which will make the dev of the other consumer products possible
VisionLab HD will be released (you guessed it) the same day as all the other application
s
well before christmas
[21:09]Exclamation asks: VLab is a mix of all your currect Pro applications, right?
Tarn: that is correct
Cogz: yes
schwar: and more
Cogz: you can chroma key in it, use the particle engine... everything
Tarn: both Pro apps combined into one, so you benefit from a single timeline for your entire project
schwar: and every grading filter and composite filter on any object - media or effect
and it'll be where new filters are seen first
and maybe where some of the most specific professional filters stay
Cogz: you can even use the gleam filter on your particles... trust me, that looks nice :)
[21:11]Lithium Kraft asks: Can vLab load eLab and cLab presets?
schwar: here is the great bit
vlab can load all presets, from any application
BUT!
hehe
* Tarn starts counting schwar's buts
schwar: all the apps can load any preset, if they don't have the filters needed they simple don't load them
the new website database can check and give a list of which apps any preset can work with
so a user makes a preset in vlab
using grading filters which are also in elab dv and clab dv
Cogz: you'll be able to filter out ones which you can't use, giving your a clearer choice
schwar: and those users will be able to use the preset
[21:14]Erfa asks: How come the cost of ELab and CLab is LESS than VLab? It sound's like the same thing...
Tarn: there's a few things to bear in mind here
schwar: well, to start with its quite similar to both pro versions..
tarn, you wanna take it
Tarn: you can't really underestimate the benefit of having it all in a single interface, with everything on one timeline
rather than having to transfer between programs...it's just all there in front of you
and you can combine and mix and match any element
having been using vLab for a long time now, it's really a great way to work
on top of that, of course, there's the commercial licence, which schwar's already mentioned
schwar: indeed
Cogz: also you'll get immediate support from us if you have a question or problem
Tarn: plus development will generally go into vLab first, then filter down to the other apps
schwar: indeed
Tarn: so if you want to keep up-to-date with all the latest gizmos, vLab is your tipple of choice
[21:17]Jonne asks: When will you open fxvault.com?
schwar: right
2 things
firstly the presets are NOT part of FXvault
FXpresets, as they are know, will be part of FXhome.com
Tarn: know/known
schwar: like the AlamDV2 plugin section, but much better :)
hehe, thanks tarn
FXvault.com is a massive project
one that is started
but is not due for a while
it is project #1 of 2006
Tarn: It's a major project and we want to do it right
schwar: we want to price it right, and make it simple
Tarn: it's as big a project as VisionLab, in some ways
schwar: we want it to be the itunes of stock footage/photos/music/sfx
its coming guns, but it'll take time
malone: we're still deciding all the features that will go into it, the list keeps gets longer and longer
Tarn: it's coming with guns blazing
Cogz: its going to be excellent, thats for sure
schwar: yeah, there will be a massive chat around march next year
when we have some really important news for you guys which we want to share with you
and we'll be doing an update of fxvault
some more screenies now
before the last bit of news
Tarn: first off, the enhanced muzzle flash interface: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/muzzles1.jpg
as you can see, we now have orbital positioners on the canvas itself
schwar: on yeah, elab dv/pro and vlab all have this new muzzle flash interface
its much MUCH better
the muzzle flashes have improved as well, more control
Tarn: makes setting the direction of the flash much, much easier
schwar: got a scale slider as well
Tarn: I think that particular flash shows one of the new standard textures, too. Which is rather tasty
schwar: so you drag on your preset
prosition, and scale
tahts it
Tarn: there's also an extra section called 'muzzle glow'
schwar: oh yeah....
Tarn: which automatically applies a glow effect around the muzzle flash
this helps to make it blend in with the live action footage
schwar: yeah, improves them a great deal
and can be blended in different ways
Tarn: we also have a revised canvas view system
http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/View1.jpg
http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/View2.jpg
as can be seen in those two iamges
it's the same frame, but the first screenie shows just the optic layer
while the second shows the entire project
schwar: yeah, the canvas views are great
Tarn: you can switch between views easily using the interface at the top of the canvas
it also keeps you easily informed of where you are in your project: which object, which toolset etc
schwar: right, last thing
as its getting late :)
Tarn: thanks to everyone for coming along guys
and thanks for sticking around to the end :)
as a bonus, we thought we'd give you a sneak peak at something else
http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/fxhome-front.jpg
I'll hand you over to malone
schwar: thats not the best pic
Tarn: you made it :)
malone: woo, new website. schwars been on a redesigning spree
schwar: thats the more unfinished page of the lot
malone: its a lot more funky, but yeah, hopefully the final version will be a tad less blurry :)
schwar: heh, malones been doing a hell of a lot of work
Tarn: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/fxhome-forum-front.jpg
Cogz: malone - hehe
* schwar wants the cinema
...
malone: we've gone css crazy for this new version, gives us a lot more flexibility, we can change the look just by altering a couple of files
Tarn: this is what you're going to be playing with soon: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/fxhome-forum-post.jpg
malone: means we can do cool changes to different parts of the site
schwar: malones's design for the forum posts is great
much easier to read
and everyone looks cooler
classy little app icons as well
malone: we had a lot of help from xcession with the css as he's a web god
schwar: and sweeeeeet lightswords
Tarn: the FXhome.com Cinema is also having a large revamp
as you can see here: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/fxhome-cinema-box-office.jpg
schwar: you now submit up to 3 images with your movie
a banner, a post and an icon
so we can really make a BIG deal of your movies
malone: the cinema has a very individual look, you can easily distinguish it from the rest of the site
schwar: we get like millions of hits a month
lets make it so every one of them sees your films
!
Cogz: instead of number of download, we thought it would be fun to have virtual money
Tarn: this is an actual movie showcase page: http://tarn.fxhome.com/webchatpics/fxhome-cinema-movie.jpg
schwar: yeah, so 1 download = $10
so you get your own box office money rank
Cogz: or fxhome dollars as i like to call them :)
schwar: and the normal gold user ratings
Tarn: I'm afraid you can't use FXhome dollars in the real world :)
schwar: its gonna rule, and you guys are gonna look real good
you'll look like your films are REALLY on quicktime.com
Tarn: I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the beta testers for their amazing work
Cogz: it'll be nice to see if with all the posters you guys come up with
schwar: yeah, they have worked so hard
Cogz: yes, the beta testers are awesome
schwar: and you'll see the difference they have made to the programs
these guys have also worked real hard
tarn has worked really hard on the manual and the new site text
the manual is like 120pages!!
Tarn: yeah, but I get paid to do that :)
schwar: tim and been doing the worlds most painful programming
and he is still alive
Cogz: yay!
schwar: JackPot is a great addition to the team
he has helped so much already
Tarn: although quiet....
schwar: and the great malone, well the new site is amazing
* JackPot is shy
schwar: what can i say
Cogz: we couldn't have done it without the great schwar! :)
schwar: hehe
* JackPot give schwar a round of applause
Tarn: Fearsome Leader that he is
[21:35]pooky asks: Do you guys know that I love you? :D
Tarn: yes, we've always known
schwar: yes, yes we do pooky :D
malone: yes, and im scared of you
[21:36]TimmyD asks: Will you accept my firstborn as a token of my appreciation?
[21:36]Lithium Kraft asks: So, are you gonna tell us what "CSB" stands for?
Tarn: yes, and no
[21:36]Exclamation asks: Once again, what does CSB stand for!?! Go on, you can tell us!!
[21:36]Jonne asks: And the final question: What did CSB stand for? Note that if you answer this it will rain cake from the sky.
schwar: hehehe
malone: oooh tempting
Cogz: cake!!
Tarn: I think they want to know what CSB stood for
schwar: i spose we could tell them...
JackPot: hehe
Tarn: definately not
schwar: go on...
Tarn: hmm
* JackPot realises that even he doesnt know
schwar: right
Tarn: before we get to CSB
schwar: oh yeah
Tarn: I should probably just mention the upcoming competition
schwar: right, while i think of the right way to tell ya about CSB
tarn will fill you in
its a great one
and we need your help with it
Tarn: we can at last tell you what the competition prize will be...
...a copy of VisionLab HD, of course
schwar: for 1st
for 2nd, you get to pick a Pro app
Tarn: a choice of either Pro apps for 2nd place
schwar: hehe, sorry
* Tarn checks for an echo
* schwar shuts up
Tarn: for 3rd place, you get a choice of either DV app
schwar: here is the thing, people without the programs can enter
Tarn: this one is open to everyone
schwar: YOU DON'T NEED TO OWN OUR PROGRAMS AND YOUR MOVIE WILL BE IN THE CINEMA
Tarn: you don't need to even use special effects if you don't want to
All you have to do is make your ideal fanfilm. It can be about anything (not just Star Wars!) - we want to know what you are obsessed with, and why
schwar: we will make banners for this, so you can stick them in other forums, get people coming and having a go
the rules are really simple
Tarn: it could be about a sport, or a person you respect, or a movie, or a song, or a book, a place you've visited...
it's up to you
but we want to see what you are a fan of, and why
why do YOU love?
what are YOU obsessed with?
yes, you can even make a fanfilm about me if you want
schwar: hehe
Tarn: (if your entry is about me, you have a greater chance of winning, btw)
schwar: we'll even host these movies
so people really don't need to worry
Tarn: we'll be announcing more details over the next few days
your fanfilm can be any genre too - comedy, satire, documentary, action, scifi...
schwar: btw, the new fxhome... before christmas
on the same day as all the new apps :D
Tarn: the maximum length for entries is 5 minutes
Cogz: its certainly going to be a big day
Tarn: more details on everything we've talked about tonight coming over the next few days
now, where were we?
schwar: csb?
Tarn: oh yeah
right
schwar: i'll let tarn answer i think
Tarn: the origin of CSB goes waaaay back
schwar: years and years
Tarn: I remember it well......
schwar: it was a hard time
Tarn: a dark time
